Upon receiving little Lola's insistent assurance that she was sure she did, Lenora and her husband were soon speeding northward, taking Lola along with them.
Lenora thought she was saving an abused child from cruel parents, and as a maid in a fine home, she would have a much easier life, but that is not the way it turned out.
Keenly disappointed, and seeking for a life free from constant hunger and servitude, Lola runs away for a second time, sure that now her life would improve -- only to meet more disappointments.
This is a factually based story of Lola's heart-hunger and search for peace and a better life, and of the many dreary steps she took in that search.
A spiritual challenge for young people and adults.
